Came here on a weekday for some bbq. We ordered the 3 meat plate (ribs pulled pork and burnt ends) with fried green beans and mac & cheese, brisket with fried okra and potato salad, and burnt ends plate with beans and potato salad. LOVED the burnt ends, ribs, and the bbq sauce selection they had. There was literally a sauce for everyone and was great for those who don’t agree on a sauce choice to pick their own. Also loved their ranch to dip sides into! Surprisingly we really loved the complimentary bread given with plates, I don’t know how they prepare it or what the bread is but it was perfectly crispy outside and fluffy inside, a great accompaniment for the bbq! We weren’t a fan of the fried sides of okra or green beans (not much flavor to it and the batter felt a little heavy so it was a lot of grease instead of a light crunch) and the potato salad could’ve used more flavor. We sampled the potato salad before ordering and there was a good amount of diced onions and pickle but when we got the actual scoop of it with the meal we found it lacking that flavor that made it so good the first time around. Overall great bbq, lots of seating, and a bar selection. Will definitely be back! I absolutely prefer this to sugar fire
I ordered chicken, potato salad, and coleslaw. The potato salad was OK, coleslaw was acceptable and so was the chicken. I prefer my chicken cooked till it’s ready to fall off the bone and this definitely tasted to me as if it needed to cook longer. It wasn’t like dangerous to eat. It was cooked. I ate the chicken with their own sauce provided on the table and it was OK but not great. I generally prefer dark meat, but was given a breast while my husband generally likes the breast and he got dark meat. Since my dinner came 15 minutes early earlier than his, we didn’t get the opportunity to switch. We weren’t told there was a choice of which pieces of chicken we got or we would’ve selected our preference. I have an allergy to garlic and asked for the garlic to be omitted on the bread. Butter without garlic was not available they said, but they did give me the bread plain, which worked OK but not having plain butter available, seemed kind of ridiculous. Because of the things I’ve mentioned I’d say the service was OK, but not better than that. Atmosphere was good. I probably won’t return as I’ve had better elsewhere.
When I walked into the restaurant, it was as lively as a library, which should have been a red flag. We placed our orders, and when the food finally arrived, the meat tasted like it had been defrosted in a microwave—still lukewarm and about as exciting as cardboard. To top it off, the silverware looked like it had survived a food fight; I had to summon a server just to get a clean fork. The only highlight was the ketchup, which was surprisingly tasty, but that’s not saying much when the BBQ aroma was as absent as the other diners. Honestly, it felt like I was eating frozen dinner leftovers rather than a freshly cooked meal. Not impressed at all.
Always had great food and service at all the other locations. We keep trying this location hoping it would improve. Clearly a management and staffing problem. On more than one occasion we have stood at the door waiting for someone to greet us and seat us, despite their bell system ringing in back. No server in dining room and only 2 tables this time. No excuse for this to be the norm at this location. Very often they are out of burnt ends early. This time only a lunch order left that was extremely dried out and should not have been served. Not close to quality of other locations. Side dish messed up then it was evidently an issue for server to just fix it with kitchen. Tea just brewed and ice tea came out without ice. Then took reminding server ice was need when food arrived. Do they not train staff at this location? Will not go to this location again. Always a mess.
Bandanas supplied a party room for a birthday party. It was great. The buffet food was very good and our wait staff was very attentive for this group of 30.
