Amazing place!!!a Ashley, the trainer has helped our rescue pup so much. He came into our lives not really knowing what life was supposed to be about. He got way way too excited any time a new person, dog, or sound was around, and was so scared about new things and places. He has so much more confidence and is understanding boundaries as we work with him more and more. The time and energy Ashley has taken to help us has been 100% amazing. We would definitely recommend her as a trainer.. the rest of the staff are incredible as well. They know our pup his quirks and help him and US so much to be successful!
I was in town visiting my daughter over Labor Day weekend and wanted my dog who was traveling with me to have some time away from her kitten. I called earlier in the week and booked day care for Saturday and Sunday and booked my golden retriever's temperament test for Saturday am. they called me just an hour after drop off stating he passed and would spend the day with the big dogs. Each day I picked him up he was happy and so tired from a great day of play! The facility was clean and the dogs all looked happy and well taken care of. I will definitely use Baxters during future visits! It is a great home away from home for us.
We used to love coming here and is the only place we trusted with daycare and today we will never be back. That trust has been broken and I am absolutely SO DISAPPOINTED. We had a vacation planned for months and we booked in advance for daycare and boarding. I CALLED THIS WEEK TO CONFIRM DETAILS AND ASK WHAT WE NEEDED TO DO. Good to go, right? No. I get there and they say they need a temperament test which is completely fine, I have zero issues with that and truly appreciate it, but they wouldn't be able to get to it until tomorrow. NO. I am not leaving my dogs for a WHOLE DAY to play with each other and have zero socialization. If I wanted them to play with each other I would have booked a dog sitter. They say this decision was made yesterday to re-do the outdoor area, but they could have called and told us. I WOULD HAVE GLADLY brought them in yesterday. No issues at all. But if they fail the temperament test, which I know they would pass with flying colors, they would not have been able to socialize while were were out of town. THIS IS NOT OKAY AND NOT GOOD BUSINESS. You also know its' bad when the person who works there and is the best person there that loves your dogs as much as you do won't even look at you. That says a lot to me. We won't be back.
My golden retriever met with their trainer for an assessment. He passed the one on one, but then failed the temperament play test. They said he didn’t pay attention when he was sent to meet with other dogs. The trainer was then extremely rude to my pregnant wife to the point when she came home she was crying. My wife was made to feel like she was a terrible dog owner by the trainer. Then when my dog came home he was immediately stricken with Kennel cough. My dog is much better staying at home and having a dog walker take him out then staying there.
If you want somewhere to board your dog go to Baxter's. I received a call when mine wouldn't eat which let me know they were invested in my dog's well being. Prices are great and so are the employees. Thanks for caring for Lucky.
