This was a really beautiful place. We also found the optional tour was well worth the price. Dennis treated us like VIPs. He was VERY knowledgeable and quite personal. This is a place definitely worth visiting!

We went to the maple syrup festival. What a fantastic classic blast from the past! It’s cool to lean the manual way to do things, the way most things were done in Daniel Boon time. They had sap dripping, syrup boiling, pancake tasting, and a lot more. St Charles does a great job with its parks and events.

We were recommended to go here by a guide at a national monument nearby. I'm glad she told us about it. We didn't know much about Daniel Boone, but we learned a lot about not only him and his family but also the time period. They have a village there that would be cool to return for one of the outdoor events.

It's actually his son's house Nathaniel Boone and he lived with him off and on and died there.
Still very educational and worth the visit.
They've recreated a small village, lots to see.
Do the tour , the guides are full of wonderful historical facts about the entire family including Daniel Boone's brother Squire!
