Be cautious. Brought in some odds and ends. In my prior life I managed multiple scrap yards. The place was pretty chaotic. I was just taking in stuff to clear out junk. Did not know it until I left but my computer motherboards were graded as power boards. If you are familiar with electronics you will understand that they would not be confused. I do not understand why the employee would take liberties with grading scrap.

STAY AWAY!!
Another business trying to make money through confusion and intimidation instead of equitable quality product and service.
Lights don’t work at scale so you’re waiting on one hurried clerk to wave you forward while she hands money out to other customers. Creates confusion.
I didn’t stay on the scale long enough I was told. I stopped while an employee checked my load and told me where to unload my scrap. Went back to the scale to collect money and first they told me they didn’t get my weight because they were busy and I was “supposed to wait for a thumbs up.” Guidance of any kind isn’t given, posted or otherwise. Then they told me I wasn’t even close to 300 pounds (their minimum.) After weighing my load independently prior to arrival AND according to their scales, I was at 320 pounds. THEN they said they would help me out by giving me $85.00 / ton. After I disputed getting $85.00 / ton for a cast iron bathtub they finally decided to give me their “Mixed Iron” price of $100 / ton. Prices fluctuate but this seems low.
Multiple lanes and bins all over the place with employees zigzagging everywhere. When you ask one of them for directions you’re likely to get a incorrect or condescending response. I’m assuming because I don’t know Didion Orfs site traffic pattern or material piles that as far as I can tell are not posted readily.
They didn’t pay me what they should and had to argue with two different people and wait just to get that amount. This they earned this negative review.

Love St.peters recycle center, staff are super friendly and cooperative and because I'm a resident, I get a nice discount off off all the materials I recycle.

Didion's takes care of their establishment & their customers. I'm in & out quickly with the help of their crew. They are all such gentleman!! I have learned so much from them. Very polite & helpful!! Great customer service & consistency. Best prices for your scrap out of everyone.
