Wrote my first complaint to the Missouri Dental Board due to this dentist office' practices. My elderly father asked for a cleaning and is 'up sold' periodontal maintenance under some code they thought his insurance should cover, except he didn't agree to it. Despite his attempt at resolution and then my own, he is without recourse and the dentist refuses to discuss the matter. The receptionist and her supervisor affirm the hygienist must perform their protocols of treatment despite what a patient is requesting. All dentists should utilize informed consent.
We had a bad experience where a tooth was prepared for crown then once work was performed was referred to an orthopedic surgeon for an abscess on that same tooth. Ended up that the tooth had to be extracted due to infection. Work should never have been performed as the abscess was visible by the naked eye prior to starting prep work yet Crossroads took our cash up front for the work and also billed the insurance provider. Cash required for payments to receive discount. Will not accept debit card, credit card for work. Suspicion, dishonest billing practice. Currently in billing dispute. Secretarial staff is rude, will yell at you rather than answer direct questions, and when cornered will simply hang up the phone. Very unprofessional.
I have been going here for the past few years and have never had any issues. The staff is really nice and both Dr. Oehlers are pleasant.
I'd give it zero stars if I could because of how terrible the staff is
