The owner greeted us immediately and once we told him we were tourists looking for great BBQ he told us just what to get to maximize our experience.
Everything we had was amazing, moist, and flavorful. The extra sauces were a perfect compliment. The beans and coleslaw were really good as well.
Heavy Smoke BBQ had fully earned their wall of awards.
Also the owner came and checked on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal.
A great experience.

You come in, order at the counter, get your drinks, utensils, and sauces and your meal is delivered fairly quickly. I had the ribs which were great. I also had the burnt ends and although they weren't burnt, they were still very good. I also looked the homemade chips. My husband didn't care for the brisket but liked the pulled pork. There were no gluten free bread options and the fryers aren't dedicated but my husband was able to have beans and green beans and he Loved the green beans. The atmosphere is very casual and I do not believe they have any alcoholic options. The service was fine but we did have a little glitch when I had to go to the kitchen twice due to an error. It was quickly rectified the second time. I would recommend the ribs and burnt ends and would eat here again.

We had high hopes for this place, considering all the awards they have received for their BBQ. The BBQ was nowhere near award winning. I had the Ribs with green beans and tater tots and their bread pudding with apples dessert. My husband had the 3 meats (ribs, burnt ends, and brisket) with beans and potato casserole. We both agreed the ribs tasted like they were boiled instead of grilled (the word that came to our minds was "soggy") - no smoke flavor, and they left the fatty membrane on the ribs. They had no flavor. He did say the burnt ends were pretty good, but once again - not much flavor, and the brisket - just ok. I was warned ahead of time that the dessert was really sweet, but I did like it, and it was really sweet. The seasoned tater tots were good, but is it really hard to get that wrong. The green beans were fresh, but way too much pepper. I would not recommend it and won't be going back. The dining area is very large, and they could not keep it cool. It was in the 80s in there. Very uncomfortable.

Nice, award winning BBQ spot. Low key, clean and casual. The pork was flavorful and tender. The burnt ends were super tender and meaty. I liked their selection of sauces. The Smoky Apple was my favorite. Great portions for the price.

I recently visited Heavy Smoke BBQ in St. Peter's and ordered the 3 meat plate with burnt end brisket and turkey, along with a side of Mac n cheese and tater tots. Let me just say, I have traveled and tried other BBQ locations in Kansas City, but no one can compare to Heavy Smoke BBQ. It's no wonder they have so many trophies, their food is top-notch.
The burnt end brisket was perfectly cooked and the turkey was juicy and flavorful. The sides of Mac n cheese and tater tots were the perfect complement to the meat. The flavors were amazing and the portions were generous.
I give Heavy Smoke BBQ 5 stars without hesitation. If you're a BBQ lover like me, this place is a must-visit. You won't be disappointed.
