Some of the best BBQ you’ll ever have. Ribs perfectly cooked, the St Louis Cuban was incredible, the brisket was exquisite. They have a whole wall dedicated to their awards from various BBQ contests. Service excellent. Wrt ribs, most restaurants serve them too dry largely because they take so long to cook. But an 11 am visit over the Xmas holidays resulted in perfectly juicy, meaty, fall-off-bone ribs with excellent flavor and not too oversauced. I will never order ribs from anywhere else again. Way to go, Heavy Smoke!
I am working here for 2 weeks and this is my 3rd visit. The sliced brisket is soooo tender, the ribs fall off the bone, and that pork steak!!!!! So tender I literally pulled the bone right out!! It's so thick big it's enough for 3 meals!!! The baked beans, loaded potato salad, and green beans are to die for!!!Haden took my order twice and he is awesome!! I have a five more days here and I plan to go back at least 3 more times!
Food was super tasty! 4 stars for service and atmosphere only because it's kinda cafeteria style dining. Which is cool. Great place for a large group or family dining. I had the brisket and the smoked jalapeno n cheese sausage with the baked beans and coleslaw. Sausage was my fav of those. I am a big guy and I was STUFFED. Great dinner!
First time here and it won't be the last! As the name implies, the two meat choices I made had a great, authentic smoke flavor so much, that I didn't use any sauce! The brisket was tender with a lite bite to it, juicy and flavorful. The ribs were perfect in every respect. The mac & cheese was good as was the green beans. This place deserves a visit, you will not be disappointed! UPDATE 9-27-23. Second time and this time with the wife. What a disappointment! The BBQ beans were simply from a can, absolutely no BBQ flavor.....strike 1. We both ordered the 2 meat meal. The brisket was cooked correctly however, lacked flavor of any kind. The tots were sprinkled with a dry spice. Nothing special there. The ribs were just ok. For the price, our favorite BBQ place is further West!
I wont call myself an expert but i am a seasoned BBQ taster Heavy smoke was fantastic, great meat, sauce, and sides. I had the brisket and ribs, since they were unfortunately out of burnt ends. Both were delicious. This place definitely improved my opinion of STL BBQ, which wasnt great. My only critique is that all the sauces were somewhat sweet, which i personally dont prefer as a texas boy. Otherwise, 10/10. Will be coming here again
