I bought a bunch of silver from this place a couple of times. I didn’t bother checking it. They gave me a 10 oz bar that was all tarnished and old looking. I don’t know how they could have possibly missed it because it wasn’t even close to looking new. My mistake for not looking until I got home. Will not be coming back. Edit: They replaced it with a new one so I’m upping my rating. I shouldn’t have had to come back though in the first place.

The man who helped us was very knowledgeable and gave us a great price for our gold, especially compared to other 'buy gold' shops in the area. Overall an excellent experience

Yes, I understand it's by appoitment but don't let that discourage you from checking this place out. The old mansion is awesome. The shops never end on this street in old St.Charles. If you have a collection of anything, you can find it in the mansion store. The guy is familiar with everything. He is very factual and to the point . He buys, sells and you can recycle your prescious metals at good rates here too. If you go there have plenty of time to get lost looking around his little place. To sum it up, it's cool!

These are very nice people. This is family owned. If you read any bad reviews, it probably doesn't represent what's usual or customary. I write this because I saw a bad review. I've been to this Coin shop a few times in the past 5 years, and while they may not have the answers or the one you want, they've always been cordial. And the building is vintage and in an area that is enjoyable to visit if you can stay for lunch or happy hour at any of several places.
