I recently visited the newly renovated Persis Indian Grill in O'Fallon, MO, and I must say, it’s a fantastic transformation! The updated interior feels modern, yet still warm and inviting, with rich colors, sleek furnishings, and a comfortable atmosphere that makes it perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions.
The menu remains as impressive as ever, with a wide variety of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes. I started with the Samosa Chaat—a flavorful combination of crispy samosas topped with tangy chutneys and yogurt. It was a great appetizer to begin the meal.
For the entrée, I had the Butter Chicken, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced. The chicken was tender and the sauce had the perfect balance of sweetness and spice. I paired it with their fluffy garlic naan, which was fresh out of the oven and absolutely delicious and for dessert I have Junnu which was an Indian Sweet Tastes amazing
The service was friendly and attentive, and it’s clear the staff has been trained to provide a seamless dining experience. One standout feature post-renovation is the improved lighting, which enhances the ambiance without being too bright or harsh. It adds a sense of elegance to the dining area.
Overall, the renovation has really elevated the experience at Persis Indian Grill. The combination of excellent food, upgraded ambiance, and attentive service makes this place a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine in the O'Fallon area. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, you’ll leave satisfied and eager to come back!

The food tasted good, but the service was disappointing.
I asked the server about the difference between Gobi 65 and Gobi Manchurian. She simply said, "The sauce is different." When I asked for more details—whether one had tomato or tamarind, or if it was spicier—she replied, "I don’t know, I just know the sauce is different." It was clear she had no real knowledge of the menu items.
I ordered Butter Chicken, and my friend ordered Chicken Tikka Masala. When the food was served, they didn’t mention which dish was which. When I asked, the server pointed to the Butter Chicken and called it Chicken Tikka Masala, and vice versa. We trusted her, took the chicken pieces onto our plates, and started eating.
Soon, I noticed my dish had bell peppers and onions—ingredients that Butter Chicken shouldn’t have—while my friend realized his dish lacked vegetables, meaning he had actually received the Butter Chicken. At that point, it wasn’t possible to swap our plates. When we asked the server again, she said she had mistaken the dishes because "the curry colors looked the same!"
I would strongly suggest that the staff only give information if they are sure about it. We ended up eating something we hadn’t ordered for ourselves. While the food was good, the service really needs improvement.

I really enjoyed the food here! The garlic Naan was the best I've tasted, light, fluffy and full of flavor. The samosas were flaky and seasoned to perfection. I tried the butter lamb masala as my entree. I'm not normally a fan of tomato based sauces but the spices and garnish of cream really pulled it all together. I recommend trying this place out!
