This is the second time I have taken my truck to Eric at Midwest Diesel. This shop has service like I have never experienced before. Nice, friendly and honest mechanics. I am not a gear head by any means and could very easily have the blanket pulled over my eyes when i comes to repair work on my truck. No here, honest, good work is what I received. First trip in I had a clogged CCV and my truck was smoking pretty bad. He walked me through the diagnostic and had told me a couple things it could have been, luckily it was the lesser of the two. Second time I brought my truck in it just felt off to me, it didn't feel like it was making full power or that I had some sort of air/fuel issue. Eric ran it through his diagnostic gave it a good look, could have sold me on anything. Instead I got the honest response of "I couldn't find anything wrong with it" now I don't expect for this to be a regular thing, that I get away with nothing wrong with my truck but like I said, I have no clue when it comes to service on my truck, he could have sold me anything and most places would!! I will and would recommend this shop to anyone looking for diesel service!! Thank you Eric and Midwest diesel!

I had blown head gaskets on my 2006 F250 6.0 diesel. After some searching I found Eric at Midwest Diesel and I am very glad I did. His work included ARP Studs, head gaskets, replace the dummy plugs and standpipes, reseal the oil pan, new lifters and push rods, etc. His work was very thorough and I can report that 6 weeks later my truck is running much better. My fuel mileage has also nicely improved, a big plus point at this time!

I do not like publishing poor reviews but I have waited long enough now and want people to know all the details of my terrible experience. I chose this shop due to all the positive reviews. A fuel line popped off of my truck on a trip home and I wanted the shop to check and see if it was still leaking, as well as add a disaster prevention kit and my SOTF switch. I was told they would get to it within the week so I had it towed there. While waiting the first week, I took time off work to drop off the disaster prevention kit, I was told they were open, I get there around 1030am and they were not open. I had to take time off work the second day to go back and drop it off. When I arrived, the owner was working on a truck, and came out screaming profanities and walked towards me like it was my fault he was upset. I tried to speak to him about my truck for a few minutes, but he wasn’t interested and just brushed me off like I was a waste of his time.
End of the first week and they still had not looked at my truck. They avoided my calls like the plague, all I wanted were updates. The second week I finally got ahold of them in the middle of the week, was told it would be end of the week. Friday comes around and he tries to tell me it would be the third week. They had found my truck also needed a new drag link, and ordered one from O’reillys, but they delivered the wrong one. I took time off work again, drove to the local ford dealership and gave my VIN to get the right one, and hauled it up to this shop. The owner made personal arrangements that day to get my truck finished so it could be done.
Fast forward to the afternoon, I get out there to pick up my truck. I start it up and check engine light is on. I go back and forth in text showing him the engine code and he knew what it was, but the sensor that was left unplugged was under my intake, extremely hard to reach by hand, needed tools. As I continued to look, my cold air intake wasn’t bolted down, clamps were as loose as possible, and my intake boot to the turbo wasn’t clamped down, you could literally spin the clamps!!! He was able to get a worker out there but I ended up being the one to figure out the way to get the sensor plugged in and done. Another thing I noticed, they left my truck parked under some tree that bled little saplings all over my paint and brand new wheels. Trying to wash them off later when home, chipped one of my brand new Fuel wheels because it had sat there for two damn weeks baking in the sun and dust. It also stained my paint. He also tried to claim they do not do suspension work but that’s what they were doing to another vehicle when I showed up one day. If not doing that work, then why take my money to do it on my truck?
I was told afterwards he would discount my bill because of all the issues his shop caused. When I got the bill, the only thing discounted, was the cost of the drag link from O’reillys because they had to send it back, and I paid for the one I picked up from the Ford Dealership. This work was done in May, 2023. I’m doing the review now because I just got my truck out of the Ford shop, and they had to replace my drag link because the one MIdwest Diesel put on was improperly installed (according to the ASE Certified Ford Diesel Tech). No, I would never recommend, all my future modifications will go to other shops from now on. Maybe in a few years when they get real experience, or can show they hold ASE certifications at this shop then I’d recommend people, but I was greeted with rudeness and treated like complete trash and so was my vehicle. There was absolutely no care taken in the work that was done.

Eric and his team are great! My f350 was towed in and they were super busy, yet Eric took the time to actually do a quick diagnostic. He figured out what it was ordered the parts and I had my truck back a week later. Upon my departure the slave cylinder on my clutch broke they pushed it back in and I had my truck 1 1/2 hour later. Great shop great guy!
